“Sometimes the best and worst times of your life can coincide. It is a talent of the soul to discover the joy in pain—-thinking of moments you long for, and knowing you’ll never have them again. The beautiful ghosts of our past haunt us, and yet we still can’t decide if the pain they caused us out weighs the tender moments when they touched our soul. This is the irony of love.”

Inspiration

This blog is dedicated to my younger sisters, Lo & Lex.

My family is nothing near perfect, but I have been extremely lucky to be raised by such wonderful women. These ladies have shaped me into the person I am today and I am so thankful. Since I can remember, they have always shared their pasts with me. They used both their failures and achievements to teach me about real people and the real world. Sometimes their stories managed to save me from making their same mistakes. And sometimes I found myself making the same careless decisions. And sometimes (by sometimes I mean barely ever) I did something that they urged me not to do, and I came out of it okay. I still don't fully listen to the people I look up to, none of us do. But their stories will travel with me forever.

That brings me to the very exciting part! I have two little sisters, Lo and Lex. They are three and six and I love them dearly. What the women in my life have done for me, I have decided to do for them in a slightly different way. I pray that these women are still here to tell their own stories but now I have plenty of my own to add. This project is HUGE for me and my hope is that when they begin 9th grade, this blog can be their survival guide. I know they wont always listen, but I hope that they can be prepared for the things approaching.

This blog is meant to be a journey. It will not be full of answers and things that will help you lead a perfect life. This is so maybe, just maybe, you could skip a few heartbreaks, and bad friends, and bad days. This is the raw truth. From what I've learned to what I don't quite understand. My highs and lows. What hurts and what has healed. Whatever turn this blog takes, I hope you will learn from it.

So to Lo and Lex, friends, your younger sisters, older sisters, and you.. Enjoy. xoxo, Ari
